Local Tidal and Stream Gauges

There is one stream gauge and two Tidal gauges that are maintained by the National Weather Service for the Rockport area: Copano Bay, Packery Channel and Bob Hall Pier that can be accessed to show real time elevations of Copano Bay, Aransas Bay and Redfish Bay.

Copano

Normal water elevation at Copano Gauge is 0-4 feet.
At 5’ water levels reach bankful stage.
At 8’ Overbank conditions occur causing nuisance flooding.
At 12’ Minor lowland flooding occurs.
At 16’ Moderate lowland flooding occurs. Water will rise to low steel of the FM774 bridge.
At 17’ Major lowland flooding occurs. Water is 200’ wide at FM 774 bridge.
At 18’.6” Major flooding occurs. Water is to the FM774 bridge floor.
At 21’ the water is at flood of record stage from September 12, 1971. On June 18, 2015, this gauge recorded a 12’.32’ elevation.
On June May 18, 2016 this gauge recorded a 14’. 12” elevation.

Packery Channel

Normal water elevations for the Packery Channel is 0-1.7 feet.
At 1.8 feet Minor Flooding Occurs
At 2.3 feet Moderate Flooding Occurs
At 2.8 feet Major Flooding Occurs.

Bob Hall Pier

Normal elevations for Bob Hall Pier is 0-.9 feet.
At 1.3 feet there is Minor flooding.
At 1.8 feet there is Moderate flooding.
At 2.3 feet there is Major flooding.
