About the Hotel Occupancy Tax
The City of Rockport approves a local hotel occupancy tax (HOT) with portions of the funds to be dedicated to supporting the Convention and Visitor Bureau for the promotional and tourism advertising of the City, promotion of the arts, historical preservation, and events and activities that attract tourists to Aransas County and puts heads in beds.
The City's Hotel Occupancy Tax rate is 7%. The State's Hotel Occupancy Tax rate is 6%.
The City of Rockport offers a Grant Program for HOT. These are the non-profits who requested funds, awarded funds, and their required reports.
