Water Storage & Distribution Department

The City of Rockport Public Works’ Water Storage and Distribution Department services and maintains over 9000 water connections and over 100 miles of waterlines. The Water Department services and maintains two water pump stations with four ground water storage tanks and three elevated water tower storage tanks to insure an adequate water supply.

The Water Department is also responsible for installation of new water connections and water meter installations, as well as daily maintenance, repairs, and replacement of all water lines. Other duties include monthly meter reading and daily requests for connecting and disconnecting water service.

One of the most important functions of the Water Department is the daily water system inspection and daily water testing as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Texas Water Development Board. The City of Rockport consistently maintains a superior water quality rating.
