Mike Donoho, Director of Public WorksThe City of Rockport's Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of streets and rights of ways, storm water collection infrastructure, drainage, public water storage and distribution system, waste water collection and treatment system, natural gas distribution system, environmental services, building maintenance, and fleet services. The Public Works Department is also responsible for regulatory environmental compliance requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, The Texas Railroad Commission, The Texas Water Development Board, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The Public Works Department also has a very important role in Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Management planning for the City. Public Works is responsible for the daily security and protection of all assets and infrastructure. This responsibility also applies during all emergencies. The Public Works Department coordinates with the city management team, other city departments and outside agencies to make timely decisions during emergencies and to make accurate and timely notifications to the public.
